General information
The BA major Greek Studies implements the model of integrated Greek studies, which deals with Greek literature of antiquity, the Byzantine period, and modern times. The program starts with or builds on basic language skills (depending on prior knowledge) and aims to provide comprehensive competence in literary texts from the aforementioned periods. In addition to teaching general skills in information retrieval and research, particularly through databases, the program provides the methodological skills required for the entire field of Greek studies, based on topics from literary history. The program is supplemented by compulsory courses in cultural history and media studies.
The program prepares students for employment at universities and academies, in publishing houses, documentation and archives, adult education, event organization, press and public relations, and all areas of cultural management.
